Trauma-informed consultation & training

Systems change
starts with
real understanding.

Haven Strategies offers customized training, survivor-centered consultation, and professional development for organizations doing the hard work of responding to domestic violence, sexual violence, and trauma.

Work with me

"Organizations don't fail survivors because they don't care. They fail because they haven't been given the right tools."

— Courtney Helly, Haven Strategies

From the front lines to the systems level.

I'm Courtney Helly, founder of Haven Strategies. I've spent over a decade working in and alongside the domestic violence and sexual violence field — as a direct service provider, a systems thinker, and someone who has sat with survivors, trained staff, and navigated the complicated intersections of advocacy, law enforcement, courts, and healthcare.

What I bring isn't a generic curriculum. It's a grounded, survivor-informed perspective built from real work — and a commitment to helping organizations move from good intentions to meaningful practice.

I work with nonprofits, coordinated community response teams, legal and court systems, healthcare providers, and multidisciplinary teams who want to do better — and need support to get there.

  • 10+ years of direct service and systems-level experience in the DV/SA field
  • Deep knowledge of trauma-informed practice, coercive control, and survivor-centered response
  • Experience training and supporting staff across nonprofits, legal systems, healthcare, and law enforcement
  • Expertise in high-risk case intervention, fatality review, and coordinated community response
  • A cross-system perspective that bridges advocacy, courts, policy, and practice
  • Skilled facilitator with experience developing and delivering customized trainings and keynotes
